10th assignment : Combining Sentence

SENTENCE WRITING        ( การเขียนประโยค ) 

การเชื่อมประโยคช่วยให้ประโยคกระชับ กะทัดรัด และอ่านง่ายขึ้น มีวิธีการต่าง ๆ ดังนี้



               1  เชื่อมประโยคเป็น compound sentence
ใช้เครื่องหมาย semicolon (;) เชื่อม independent clause
ตัวอย่าง  Three of the participants were male and seven were female; their age ranged between 21 and 24.

ใช้ coordinating conjunction   and,   but,   or
ตัวอย่าง   The study employed a range of data gathering instruments, but the main source of data came from self-assessment questionnaires.

ใช้ correlative conjunction  not only … but also, either … or, neither … nor
ตัวอย่าง   The distinction is important not only in terms of measuring and understanding how these variables affect WTC but also in terms of pedagogical intervention.
 
             2 เชื่อมประโยคเป็น complex sentence
 ใช้ adverbial clause แสดงความสัมพันธ์ของประโยค เช่นแสดงความแย้งใช้ adverbial clause ที่ขึ้นต้นด้วยalthough  แสดงเหตุผล ใช้ since  because แสดงเวลา ใช้ when
 ตัวอย่าง  Although the study led to a proposed preliminary model of situational WTC in L2, the model is static.
               
              3  ใช้   appositives  ขยายความหรือเพื่อเชื่อมความคิด

 ตัวอย่าง  Smith, who was anative speaker of English, gave interview on the experience of teaching thai students.
 
             4  ใช้  participial phrase  เชื่อมความคิดRedressing the balance, others have attempted to describe the specificities of Chinese learning from a more sympathetic perspective.
                
            5   การใช้ participial phrase ต้องระวัง  Dangling participle
กล่าวคือ ประธานไม่ได้เป็นผู้กระทำกริยาใน participial phrase/  นั้น Wrong:   Coping with daily stress, the model in this research needs support.
Improved: Coping with daily stress, parents of children with autism need support.
ที่ถูกต้องคือ parents เป็นผู้ cope with daily stress  ไม่ใช่ โมเดลในการวิจัย

     Animals  be a member of 2 group: vertebrates and invertebrates. Examples of vertebrates are reptiles, fish ,amphibians, bird and mammals. . Examples of Invertebrates  are protozoa, flatworms, annelid worms, echinoderms, coelenterates, arthropods and molluscs. Arthropods are such as arachnids, crustaceans, insects  and myriapods.
                        


Plant  kingdom  are  divide  into  2  groups :  spore  bearing  plants   and  seed  bearing  plants   . Spore  bearing plants   examples  of  algae,  mosses  or  liverworts   and  ferns . Seed  bearing  plants   examples  of   flowering  plants  or angiosperms   and   conifers  or  gymnosperms.   Seed  bearing  plants   examples  of   flowering  plants  or angiosperms   are   monocotyledons  and  dicotyledons .
